Eclipsing PDnH
Well, I was scared! No, I was petrified - but I have just moved the development of PDnH from Dreamweaver and Nedit, which have served me very well, into Eclipse the open source Java-based IDE (Integrated Development Environment).
This means that now I’ll easily be able to continue developing PDnH towards version 1.0 in a totally opensource development environment where I can keep track of all my Object-Orientated classes and other components. Plus Eclipse is the nicest editor for PHP that I have used so far - and even better, I can develop Macromedia Flash ActionScript 2.0 and Flex apps in it as well! Bonus!
What does this mean for you guys waiting for PDnH? Well, once released to the community, it will be easy for everyone to help maintain and fork new developments from the source - and for the users, faster and more frequent releases.
